The Longevity of Art

Hand embroidery is more than just thread on fabric; it is a meticulous chronicle of time and patience. Unlike machine-made garments, every stitch carries the artisan's intent and pressure. Proper care is a form of respect for this craftsmanship. When you wash with cool water and store in breathable linens, you are not just cleaning a garment—you are preserving a legacy of slow fashion that defies the transience of modern trends.

Washing 01

Technique

Submerge in cool water using only pH-neutral detergents. Never scrub the embroidered area; instead, gently swirl the garment to loosen dust.

Cautions

Avoid chlorine bleach and synthetic fabric softeners which can degrade the natural silk or cotton threads over time.

Drying 02

Flat Lay

Roll the wet garment in a clean white towel and press gently to remove excess moisture. Never wring. Lay flat on a drying rack away from direct sunlight.

Ironing

Iron on the reverse side while slightly damp. Place a thick, soft towel underneath the embroidery to prevent the stitches from being flattened.

Avoid Plastic

Plastic covers trap moisture and cause yellowing. Use cotton garment bags or acid-free tissue paper to maintain breathability.

Climate Control

Store in a cool, dry place. Extreme temperature shifts can cause fibers to expand and contract, loosening the intricate embroidery.
